What People's Say About Place

This was the favorite part of my trip to Marquette area. The Up North lodge has a great atmosphere and an amazing staff. We took a horse drawn sleigh ride at sunset. It was amazing and the horses were so beautiful. The staff provided a great experience overall. We got dinner at the lodge after and it did not disappoint. The ribs were fall of the bone, the drinks were good and the vibes were even better. They even have an igloo you can dine in. I highly recommend this place and hope to return soon!

My husband and I had dinner on Saturday, and it was AMAZING! We’ve been several times, but this was our second time getting the prime rib, and it’s truly the best we’ve ever had. Melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly juicy, and so much flavor. We couldn’t stop talking about how good it was!

What an incredible place. We made a whole evening out of our visit. We did the horse drawn sled such a cool experience. Had a Bloody Mary flight, dinner was incredible one of the best shrimp Alfredo’s I have ever had. Then we went to dueling pianos in there back building. Great date night or in our case family night out with our eldest daughter.

As my family owns a place on Big Shag Lake, I've been dining at the up North Lodge for decades. I've always enjoyed the food including ribs, burgers, steaks, fish and good selection of draft beer. Probably a little pricey for the area. This visit I wanted to watch the Bears game and sat at the bar. Rachel was very accommodating switching one screen to the game despite being surrounded by Packer fans. Saw "Poutine" on the menu. Never had it but thought I'd try it. It was okay but I wouldn't order it again. Don't blame the restaurant. Blame Canada. Get a burger or fish and chips. Both excellent.

We stumbled upon this gem after it was recommended to us while wedding venue hunting– and I am so thankful that we did. Jesie put so much love and care into helping us plan our big day, and did about anything she could to help us bring our vision to life! She has a plethora of decor for couples to use, many beautiful backdrops/arches (as if the wooded area isn't beautiful enough), a marquee sign out front, a long lighted fence, and a gorgeous indoor reception space/patio! Just to name a few pros. –A few more pros: Their food is fantastic, they have four cabins available to rent on site, and they have fair prices for all of it! We truly do not have enough good things to say about The Up North Lodge or Jesie. Our perfect day would not have happened if not for her kindness and hard work! Highly recommend to anyone looking to plan their wedding or other event– Or just for a night out!

What a hidden gem! We found Up North Lodge when searching for restaurants near Ishpeming. Beautiful setting, lodge feel, friendly service, great beer and food selection/taste & merch! We were greeted upon entering and felt at home! The beautiful lodge-log restaurant with beautiful grounds was open and airy! We ordered a half rack of ribs, bowl of chili and 2 pints! Highly recommend visiting Jessie and her team! We purchased 2 baseball caps which were stylish and cool PBR like design! They also offer cabin lodging and music on site! Cheers!

This place is in contention for one of the best snowmobile trail stops in Michigan. They have really great lunches that come quick. They are also very accommodating to larger groups. We stopped on 2 different days with 9 people and were sat immediately for lunch. Great wait staff as well.

We stopped in after ripping the snowmobile trails in the area for a quick cocktail and bite to warm up. Loved the three skewer Bloody Mary with sidecar, spicy wings and vibe of this rustic cabin like place. Service was fast and helpful with the many menu items. Great access from the snowmobile and ORV trails and plenty of parking.
